Q: How does the program work?

A: The exchange program is setup via the West Coast Rugby League program liaisons to assist league players in the process and transition of the exchange program. Liaisons have knowledge of their territory so as to link players with clubs in the USA and abroad.

Q: Accommodations with host clubs?
A: A liaison will coordinate communications for and between player and club. Thereafter, make arrangements between club and player and assign player to a league club. The club will provide basic accomadations, room and board to the player for a maximun of a three month stay. (A nominal charge may apply)
Q: When is the season for this program?
A: The exchange program will run during the months of June-August.
Q: What do I need to particiapte in the program?
A: You will need a valid passport, medical insurance, travel insurance, confirmed travel arrangements, proper clothing, rugby gear and other peronsal items as needed and financial means and assistance for your period of stay and weather conditions.
Q: What should I expect when I arrive?
A: The host club shall provide transportation to/from trainings, airport and other necessary club related functions. The club is not responsible for personal travels, leasure time and illegal activities. Additional needs can be arranged prior or upon arrival as needed.
Q: Can I be refused or terminated from the program?
A: Yes. Any illegal activity or behavior deemed unprofessional and/or disrupting to the overall layout and/or image of the host club and the league and its participating parties may result in you removal from the program, with a possible DNR (do not return) status.
Q: How does a interested player begin the process?
A: An interested player must make contact with a west coast rugby league liaison to initiate the process.

Q: How do I become a liaison?
A: To become a volunteer liaison, you need to have extensive knowlege of the territory/club in which you choose to foster and assist players. An understanding of the club's needs and abilities. Experience in sports management (coaching, travels, refereeing, 'the league' expectations etc...) and knowledge of the game of rugby league. Please have time to commit to finalizing all arranagments and communications between clubs and players from start to finish of each applicant. Financial assistance is not available for players or liaisons.
